What do Spotlight correspondents do when they are not writing for us? Some, like Lorraine Mallinder, travel the world to report for other publications. When we heard that Lorraine was in Iraq researching stories for the BBC and The Irish Times, we thought you might like to hear about her trip and asked her to write a daily log. In it we find out how foreign reporters work. Where do they make contacts? How do they travel in countries that are considered dangerous? What happens when something goes wrong? What kind of people do reporters have to deal with? You can find the first diary entry in issue 14/21 of Spotlight.
