A starshipRaumschiffstarship appears to have landed in Los Angeles. But instead of Jedi characters, it contains art. This is the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, founded by Star Wars creator George Lucas and his wife, Mellody Hobson.

This September, he and his wife, businesswoman Mellody Hobson, who has helped shape the museum as a co-founder and board co-chair, are opening the $1 Milliarde(n)billion Lucas Museum of Narrative Art in Los Angeles to present the collection to the world.
According to its website, the museum “celebrates the power of visual storytelling.” The futuristic building has 35 galleries, organized around themes such as family, love, work, and adventure. Lucas’s collection includes paintings, illustrations, photography, Bildhauereisculpture, comic art, and, of course, memorabilia from his famous movie series Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Speaking at Comic-Con International in San Diego in 2025, Lucas said the museum is “sort of a temple to the people’s art.”
