A pioneer of food scienceErnährungswissenschaftenfood science, Heinz began mass-producing canned baked beans in 1895 and soon opened his first U.K. factory. The pork was removed, and the sauce made less sweet and spicy, for the British market. In 1967, Heinz launch sth.etw. einführenlaunched its famous British marketing slogan: “Beanz Meanz Heinz.” In 2004, the company changed its U.K. labels to simply read: “Heinz Beanz.” Baked beans on toast remains a favorite British meal.
