Heinz baked beans

One of the most popular of the famous Heinz 57 varieties is a dish of humbleeinfach, simpelhumble beans in sauce.

In 1886, Henry J. Heinz, an American food entrepreneurLebensmittel­produzent(in)food entrepreneur, visited London to sell his luxury foods, including can (N. The beans are added to a secret tomato-sauce recipe of salt, sugar, and spiceGewürzspices. Baked beans are cooked in their cans, to kill any bacteria and to thicken the sauce. 

A pioneer of food scienceErnährungswissenschaftenfood science, Heinz began mass-producing canned baked beans in 1895 and soon opened his first U.K. factory. The pork was removed, and the sauce made less sweet and spicy, for the British market. In 1967, Heinz launch sth.etw. einführenlaunched its famous British marketing slogan: “Beanz Meanz Heinz.” In 2004, the company changed its U.K. labels to simply read: “Heinz Beanz.” Baked beans on toast remains a favorite British meal.
