    Reeves studied economics and worked in the Bank of England before becoming an MP in 2010. She worked as Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer from 2021 to 2024 and became Chancellor in July 2024, the first woman ever to hold the office in its 800-year history.     Lammy studied law at the University of London and was the first Black Briton to attend Harvard Law School. He has been an MP since 2000, holding ministerial positions under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
