Seven London hotels for less than €100
London is the perfect city for a quick autumn break, an exciting shopping weekend, a provocative exhibition like "Pop Life" at the Tate Modern or a brilliant play such as Lucy Prebble's Enron at the Royal Court Theatre. But finding someplace to stay that does not cost the sun, moon and stars is the challenge. Sure, there are lots of cheap hotels near Paddington and Victoria stations, but many of them are exactly that: cheap, in the worst sense of the word.
The seven hotels here are not cheap; they are affordable. And each of them has lots of personality. So let's check them out before checking in.
1. The budget hotel everyone's talking about these days is Base2Stay at 25 Courtfield Gardens in Kensington, a short walk from Earls Court Tube station. Modern, clean and with free Wi-Fi, Base2Stay rooms cost €93. How does it manage to offer such affordable prices? "By editing out unnecessary extras", says the website. No breakfast, in other words.
