Manhattan? Fuhgeddaboudit, says Brooklyn!
Whether you are in Amsterdam or Abu Dhabi, Shanghai or Jakarta, you'll find a Time Out magazine filled with what's going in the city. The weekly listing of events that began in London 40 years ago now extends to 28 cities and the number keeps growing. One of the most popular titles is Time Out New York, and the current issue has a great cover story: "Brooklyn vs. Manhattan". It's great because every New Yorker has an opinion about the two places. Once upon a time, a Manhattan address signalled class, money, sophistication and all the other good things in life, while a Brooklyn address suggested the opposite. But times have changed. Brooklyn is increasingly where the hipper bars, the cooler people and the more affordable apartments can be found. Let's start our tour in Park Slope.
