London: Afternoon tea and city songs
What makes an afternoon perfect? A pot of fine tea and fresh scones, some say. They will taste better in London, where "tea at the Ritz" is an afternoon institution, but there are less expensive options. And as you travel around the city in search of the most charming afternoon tea, we've got some music suggestions for you. "Baker Street" by Gerry Rafferty is a must for your iPod. "London's Burning" by The Clash should be there as well, along with "Down in the Tube Station at Midnight" by The Jam. Talking of jam, that's what you can put on your scones. Time for tea!
1. Bea's of Bloomsbury at 44 Theobald's Road is a short walk from High Holborn Station Tube station. It's very popular, and you'll need to reserve a table for Saturday or Sunday afternoon.
Our song is "LDN" by a real Londoner with a real London accent, Lily Allen, who sings about "A fella looking dapper/And he's sitting with a slapper".
