Budget airline EasyJet says it's looking into the reasons for a major fiasco that left a whole Airbus full of passengers angry.

Flight EZY1496 from Birmingham to Geneva had sat on the runway for nearly half an hour when the captain said he had some "bad news". The ground crew had put 10 tonnes too much fuel into the plane, which wouldn't be able to handle the extra weight, he said. Before the plane could take off, 37 passengers would have to debark.

Each passenger thus bumped would be given £100 and overnight accommodation, he added. But when only seven passengers accepted the offer, the 30 who had checked in last were ordered off the plane.

The passengers who did get to fly did not have a much better time. The flight landed four hours late and without their luggage. Their bags had been removed from the plane back in Birmingham. Jane Webb, 65, and her family were on their way to a skiing holiday in France. "We had to buy all the essentials ... including thermal underwear and snow boots," she told The Telegraph. Their luggage arrived after five days — on the day before they were to fly home to Britain.

The airline has apologized to the customers who were affected.

Honestly, I think it serves them right... Maybe not those very people on the plane, but us customers in general. EasyJet is a so-called low-cost provider. What do you expect if you pay 29 bucks from Birmingham to Geneva? You get what you pay for! Low-cost, low performance. You want your steak for 1.99 and your eggs for 0.05 ? No problem, just deal with dioxin in it. You like to dress like a queen and pay squad? Here you are, but hopefully you are not allergic to the formaldehyde in the clothing... Bikes for 99 €? Yes, but handlebars break and people get killed. Now they want to introduce cars at as low as 4000 € from India and China.... We buy them to be able to afford a whole lot of unnecessary things... the third mobile phone, the new plasma TV (although the old one was ok), the latest trendy wristwatch etc.
Let's take a step back and think it over... Maybe it's all our own fault?

Well I certainly would not dream of ever flying with Easy Jet or any other low budget airline. The ticket may seem cheap at first, but after you have paid for your luggage allowance, seat, etc. etc. You might as well fly with a normal commercial airline. We use Lufthansa every time. Great service, and at least Lufthansa care about their passengers` welfare.
