Three Michelin stars in Hong Kong
08.01.2009
He began cooking when he was 15 . Now he's the first Chinese cook in the world to be awarded three Michelin stars. Chan Yan Tak, known in the Wan Chai district as Chef Tak, won the three-star rating for the Lung King Heen ("View of the Dragon") restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel in Hong Kong. After dining undercover 12 times at Chef Tak's tables in the past 11 months, the Michelin inspectors chose the Lung King Heen for its highest award. Chef Tak is famous for his dim sum — a selection of steamed and fried snack-sized dishes served at lunchtime with endless pots of tea. "The lobster and scallop dumplings are also incredibly popular. Everyone orders those," Nicola Chilton, a spokeswoman for the Four Seasons Hotel, told The Times. The full menu at Lung King Heen offers 133 dishes.
