The World Cup is coming to Cape Town
The planet will be watching on 11 June when the World Cup kicks off in Johannesburg's Soccer City stadium with the game between South Africa and Mexico. But with France and Uruguay in its group as well, the hosts will have a hard time getting beyond the first round of the tournament.
Before the kickoff, we'll be paying a number of visits to South Africa and we're starting this week with a photo series shot by Spotlight contributor Franz Marc Frei, who was in Cape Town, where the draw for the 2010 World Cup took place on 4 December.
Franz: "The disappointment with the draw was great, yet the news of each opponent was greeted with cheers."
