Easter is just around the corner, and you still don't know where to go or what to do? May we suggest that you read the April Spotlight travel story about the British Virgin Islands? Sun, sand, exotic fish, friendly people, great cocktails, the Caribbean... perfect! If you really want to impress your friends, and if you want an exclusive Easter experience, it will have to be Necker Island. The only thing, though, is that you'll need to win the lottery to afford the €40,000 a night that it costs to rent this particular British Virgin island. You see, it belongs to Sir Richard Branson, boss of the British Virgin empire.
When Sir Richard and his family aren't using Necker, anyone may. But if €40,000 a night is too much for your budget, there is a more affordable option. Couples can rent a room for a week for just €19,000. The only weeks available, however, are the ones starting on 26 September and 3 October. And you'd better hurry, because there are only 14 bedrooms — nine in the Great House and the rest in Balinese-style houses around the island.
What does the holidaymaker get for all this money? The very best food and drink, of course, and visitors can use Sir Richard's costume wardrobe for the Pirates of the Caribbean parties that are part of life on Necker. Before going to Necker, though, it might be a good idea to look for the treasure that Captain Jack Sparrow found in The Curse of the Black Pearl.
