For the July Spotlight, Claudine Weber-Hof and her photographer husband, David John Weber, visited the southern African country of Namibia. Here, David shares the stories behind some of the photos he took in that fascinating country.
David writes: I expected to see warthogs at the Daan Viljoen Game Park near Windhoek. What I did not expect was to encounter one sleeping on a sofa in the park's reception area! This was quite a treat because most of my sightings have involved a family of warthogs running away from me in a row, all pointing their hindquarters and antennae-like tails at the camera. Since warthogs are known for being quite grumpy, I decided it would be best not to use a flash. Instead, I increased the ISO to 1600 and used only the available light.
