Five totally excellent travel sites
Tony and Maureen Wheeler, who founded Lonely Planet, have a simple philosophy: "All you've got to do is decide to go and the hardest part is over. So go!"
1. &Beyond: What a superb site! &Beyond runs some 50 safari lodges and camps in the most beautiful parts of Africa and India, from the deserts of Namibia to the Okavango swamps, from the plains of the Serengeti to the forests of Madhya Pradesh. &Beyond grew out of the international demand for ecotourism, and from the idea that through responsible commerce African and Indian communities could be helped, and endangered wildlife could be saved.
2. I wanna go there: Some travellers prefer to go their own way. María Martínez, Fernando Blat and Manuel Muñoz are like that. Instead of using travel agencies or travel guides, they like to meet other travellers and exchange tips. That's how Iwannagothere.com was born. Independent travellers can use the site to share up-to-date information and recommendations. "Travel like a local" is their motto.
