Ever since airports in Britain, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia began to shut down because of the ash coming from Eyjafjallajökull, people have been fascinated by that volcano on the island of Iceland. And it's now got 14,000 fans on its own Facebook page.

With its 16 letters and seven syllables, Eyjafjallajökull (also written Eyjafjallajokull) could get you a lot of points in a game of Scrabble, so being able to spell the word properly is very useful. And being able to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull correctly will seriously impress people in pubs, clubs at work and at dinner parties.

The US military has decided not to try to pronounce the name at all. They're calling the volcano "E15", because it starts with an E and has 15 more letters.
