Procedure
- For homework, ask your students to read the article, and to select two words or expressions they like.
- Start off the lesson by collecting the students' words on the board and discussing their choices.
- Invite comments about the article. Discuss the message in the last paragraph. How can married couples keep romance alive?
- Divide the class into teams of two or three students. Each team chooses a name for itself. Put the team names on the board and draw a column under each name.
- There are 12 multiple-choice questions, each worth a certain number of points, totalling 150 points. Teams win points for each correct answer.
- Tell the students the value of the first question, then read aloud the question with the three possible answers. Give the teams 30 seconds to choose the right answer and write it down. Continue in the same way until you've asked all the questions.
- Ask a representative from each team to come up to the board with their answers. Check the answers with the whole class. The representatives fill in the columns on the board with the number of points won for each correct answer.
- The team with the most points wins. Award the prizes.
