Questions quizProcedure
- Ask your class whether they played any board games over the Christmas holidays. Tell them that they are going to do a New Year's quiz. The questions are taken from various articles in this month's magazine.
- Divide the class into two or four groups, and deal the cards out to them.
- Each group looks at its cards and converts each statement into an open question, e.g. "Who is Alicia Keys?", "What percentage of the Earth's water is salty?"
- One person in the group writes the questions on separate pieces of paper.
- Go round and check the question forms.
- Each team should now face another team. The students take it in turns to ask students from the other team their questions, and to award points for correct answers. The students should aim to look at the original card and to ask the question from memory if possible.
- Change the teams round so that the students have a chance to practise their questions again before you do a plenary feedback session.
COMMENTS
I wanted to open the pdf questions quiz but didn't manage to get it fully open. I had the same problem with other pdfs from this portal. At first I thought it was because it was just for premium members but I then tried this one and it didn't work either.
What am I doing wrong?
Maybe you could check that the download is complete. The file should be 1941 kB, or almost 2 MB, in size. It is one page of text, although it calls itself page 2. Our files should be readable from Adobe Acrobat 5 on up to the current version, Adobe Reader 9.
Yesterday I managed to download this page, however I had trouble again with another.
It started to download and then it stopped and the task-list at the bottom which shows that the data from Spotlight is being connected starts to flatter. I have the Adobe Reader 8 and don't usually have any trouble to download.
