Each year, between 70 and 100 people around the world are attacked by sharks. But what sharks cannot see well, they are less likely to attack. Researchers in Australia say they have made a simple discovery that will help surfers and divers.

Porpoises swim in front of a boat near the Farallon Islands, not far from San Francisco. Although they are able to dive as deep as 200 metres, they generally hunt in shallow coastal waters.

What happened to Amelia Earhart?

On the uninhabited Pacific atoll of Nikumaroro, researchers found a pocketknife, bottles made in New Jersey and part of a mirror from a woman's make-up kit. The group also found three small bones, which it says may have been Earhart's.

The Atlantic bluefin tuna is one of the largest, fastest, and most beautifully coloured of all the world's fishes. Their bodies are built for speed, and their huge appetite pushes their average size to a whopping 250 kilograms or more.
