An apology for Bloody Sunday Premium-Inhalt

One of the most violent episodes in the Northern Ireland conflict was Bloody Sunday, 30 January 1972. On that day, soldiers of the British army confronted Catholic demonstrators in the city of Londonderry. Thirteen of the demonstrators were shot and killed.

History should be fun. Children should learn about it by playing computer games. Scottish academic Niall Ferguson has a vision of "doing for history what Jamie Oliver has done for school food: make it healthy, and so they actually want to eat it".

On the Mississippi with Mark Twain

In 1909, Mark Twain said: "I came in with Halley's Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it." The author of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn died on 21 April 1910, a day after the comet's closest approach to Earth.

Ireland will be Camelot this summer

Camelot gave its name to a 1960 Broadway musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe. The show was adapted into a 1967 film of the same name, which starred Richard Harris as Arthur, Vanessa Redgrave as Guenevere and Franco Nero as Lancelot.
