Birthday in Bangladesh

For visitors to Bangladesh, highlights include the tiger-filled Sundarbans National Park and the impressive colonial tea plantations around Srimangal. All of this comes with some of the kindest, most open-hearted people you will ever meet.

Dried rice

The price of rice in Bangladesh has been rising. Food inflation jumped to 10.56 percent in January. Now the world's fourth-biggest rice producer plans to import 300,000 tonnes of rice and 750,000 tonnes of wheat before the end of the month.

A tablet, but not an iPad

The expression "to wipe the slate clean" means "to agree to start again" with a relationship. The term comes from the Latin tabula rasa. The Romans wrote on tablets covered in slate and wax, and the entire slate could be erased for reuse afterwards.
