"Any excuse for a party!"
The above statement is often made in Britain because people are happy to come together for some fun. Queen Elizabeth II will soon be celebrating 60 years on the throne, which is why, right now, many British communities are planning street parties. Everyday English (pages 4-5) contains a lot of the vocabulary and phrases you need for this special occasion. By the way, when does the word "party" need an article, and when should you use "a", "an" and "the"? Practise using each of these articles by doing the exercises on page 8. If you enjoy yourself working through this issue of plus, take a look at page 9 for extra tips on when to use reflexive pronouns. And finally, don't forget to test your progress on pages 20-21. Good luck!
