At 2.29 metres, Yao Ming is the tallest player in the US National Basketball Association. Fans will be able to see him dribble and dunk in 3-D when the NBA broadcasts its All-Star Game on 14 February. The game will be shown in 3-D in 160 cinemas in 80 cities around the US, including the cities of Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. In December, a live game in 3-D was shown to an invite-only audience, with mixed reactions. Some viewers complained that the system was better for showing off the technology than showing fans the game. "The All-Star Game will come off without the satellite glitches, double images and confusing camera angles that plagued the test game," Joseph Piexoto, president of RealD, which has equipped most of the America's 3D-capable cinemas, told USA Today.
