The Amanda Project has begun
"Amanda Valentino came to our high school on Halloween. She disappeared on the ides of March. She left us some clues, but we're not sure what they mean. The only thing we know for sure is that she utterly, completely changed our lives."
There was a time when a book was just that: a book. But not any more. The Amanda Project is a book, but it is also a social network, a writing project and an interactive game. The Amanda Project tells a young girl's story through an interactive website and a book for readers aged 13 and up. On the site, readers are invited to become a part of the story as they help the main characters to find Amanda.
The goal of the social network is to bring readers together and encourage them to enter the book's world by following clues and reading stories, and ultimately helping to shape Amanda's adventure across the planned eight novels. The first Amanda book, Invisible I, comes out on 22 September. It was written by Melissa Kantor, a New York teacher who lives in Brooklyn with her family.
