Kirk Douglas has 6,342 friends
He was 44 when he said "I am Spartacus!" He was 90 when he became MySpace's most famous blogger. Now, at 92, Kirk Douglas is back doing what he loves most — acting, and in his very own theatre. On Sunday night, he'll be performing a one-man show, Before I Forget, in the new Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles. But don't even think about booking tickets. The show sold out in five minutes.
"They say I'm the oldest blogger on MySpace. Perhaps that's true, but now I might be the oldest actor to do a one-man show," Douglas wrote in a recent post. The blog features his thoughts on US politics (he's an Obama fan) and films. His favourites are Spartacus, Paths to Glory and Lonely Are the Brave ("I just happen to be in these movies," he wrote). Douglas says that the blog's purpose is to encourage discussion with the thousands of people who read it. "I express my opinion, and I tell them that they don't have to agree with me, because it's a free country," he told CNN.
