Love from London in film, on map
If you click on the red heart symbol near where it says "Highbury" on the interactive Movie Map created by Film London, you'll get "Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994)". At once, you can see that the director was Mike Newell and the stars were Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell. And there's this extra information: "Highbury Fields, Islington's largest open space, with tennis courts, football pitch and children's play area, is surrounded by elegant Georgian and Victorian townhouses."
Film London, which has the job of selling the British capital as a film-making centre, hopes that the "Love From London" map will promote the city as "one of the most cinematic cities in the world" and encourage tourists and Londoners to take film-inspired trips around the city.
The map highlights London locations that have played a role in more than 100 British, Bollywood and Hollywood films. It includes descriptions of the films and where scenes were shot. Locations include the Millennium Bridge, as seen in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Waterloo Station, where Matt Damon raced through in The Bourne Ultimatum. Locations will be added to the map as new films are made in London.
