Dear Ms Taylor,
Could you please explain the answer to number 4.
Is only this one option correct?
Best regards,
Uwe Kindsvogel
Dear Uwe
"Wildlife" is a collective noun that means 'animals, birds and insects that live in a natural environment'. "Wildlife" is uncountable which means a singular verb follows. It is the subject and not the form "lot/lots" that makes the following verb singular or plural.
Compare:
- "There is a lot of furniture in this place."
- "There are a lot children in the restaurant."
I hope this helps.
All the best
Dagmar
