Time to visit Florida, the “Sunshine State”
Get on the fast track to better English. This month's language feature presents our new vocabulary trainer: Spotlight express. Author Vanessa Clark tells you what kind of vocabulary you can learn, and she has created an exclusive episode for you to listen to and learn with. We're sure you'll enjoy the fun dialogues and useful exercises. Information on how to subscribe to Spotlight express is included in the feature, which begins on page 14.
Florida is truly a dream! Just looking at this colourful picture of Miami's South Beach makes me want to hop on the next plane. In the travel story "Follow the sun", Karin Holly takes us to what she calls "the real Florida". She explores the quiet beaches, friendly towns and vibrant culture of Florida's west coast. Why not join her? The journey begins on page 18.
British chef Eric Snaith is at home on a completely different coast. Snaith, who runs a successful restaurant in his parents' hotel in Norfolk, England, regularly goes to his local beach to collect ingredients for his dishes. Guests at his restaurant might be offered fresh crab served with marsh samphire, a wild plant that grows along the Norfolk coast. We talked to Snaith about what inspires him and, of course, what he likes to eat. Get a taste of modern English cuisine with our food feature "News from Norfolk". You'll find it on pages 34-35.
