"I've been doing weddings in Reno for 20 years. To me, there is magic in every ceremony. I watch my couples, always looking for the right words that will touch them, something that they will remember, that will keep them together. It's a continuous challenge.

One particular couple: they came in, ready to get married. The groom was an older man and the woman was ten years his junior. We took them into the chapel and it was a very emotional wedding. The groom cried. After the wedding, we were completing their paperwork, and while the groom was in the restroom, the bride told us that he had terminal cancer and was not expected to live another 30 days. One of the joys of doing this work is accommodating people with such needs."
