Hot, hot, hot down under
11.01.2010
According to yesterday's weather report in The Sydney Morning Herald: "Parts of the South Australian, Victorian and New South Wales bush are baking in 45-degree heat, the hottest weather this summer, and it's not much cooler in the city."
Wikipedia says that "Sydney has a temperate climate with warm summers and cool winters. The warmest month is January, with an average air temperature range of 18.6 to 25.8 °C. The maximum recorded temperature was 45.3 °C on 14 January 1939, at the end of a four-day heatwave across Australia."
