Hot August nights
08.08.2011
Las Vegas has a little sister, called Reno. This city of 225,000 lies in western Nevada, next to the state's border with California. Like Las Vegas, Reno is known for its bright lights and casinos, as well as for this arch on Virginia Street. Each year in August, the city holds a festival called Hot August Nights, which celebrates cars, trucks and 1950s rock 'n' roll.
This year's Hot August Nights, held from 9 to 14 August 2011, is the festival's 25th anniversary. More than 800,000 visitors are expected to admire the classic cars and other vehicles as well as enjoy the free entertainment.
