A better future is out there, somewhere

A poor boy stands next to a broken bus in Chittagong, Bangladesh's main seaport and its second-largest city. Where will he go? What will he do? Has he got a chance at a better life?
His future might be in the shipbreaking yards along the Indian Ocean, where supertankers are dismantled. The yards are Chittagong's biggest employer, but they are also some of the most polluted places on Earth and are infamous for their dangerous working conditions. Workers cut steel plates all day and night without protective goggles, gloves, boots or uniforms. Greenpeace has long highlighted the dangers that shipbreaking represents for people and the environment, but with little success so far.
