What is not a verb?
Our grammar experts would tell us that Google and e-mail are nouns, but in the English-speaking world today, people "google" and "e-mail" each other all the time. The old debate about what is a noun and what is not a verb has become more heated in recent times because of what the internet and globalization are doing to the language. It's reached the point where one unhappy person has now registered the domain loginisnotaverb.com to explain in great detail why the process by which you access a computer system — to "log in" or "login" — is not a verb.
Our grammar experts would tell us that "log in" is a combination of a verb and an intransitive preposition, but I've got the feeling that people are not listening. They'll just do what they want to do. Language evolves quickly, and "login" will be a verb one day. Just look at "Google" and "e-mail".
