Michael Jackson is "forever young"
He was born in Gary, Indiana, on 29 August 1958. And it seems like it was just yesterday that we were wishing him a happy 50th birthday. To his fans, Michael Jackson will remain, in the words of Bob Dylan, "Forever Young".
He was a boy when he sang the Motown hit I Want You Back. That was exactly 40 years ago in 1969, the year man first walked on the moon. In the 1980s, he gave the world moonwalking, the trademark single glove and all those brilliant dance moves. Thriller, which came out in 1982, is still the best-selling album of all time. Now, the little boy who refused to grow up is gone. But for the millions all over the world, who are shocked and saddened by his death today, Michael Jackson will be forever young. For ever.
