Everyone should cool down with a cold one

Dictionaries are already referring to it as the Beer Summit. On 30 July, President Barack Obama invited  Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., who is black, and police officer James Crowley, who is white, to the White House to discuss their differences over a beer. It was Bud Light for Obama, Blue Moon for Crowley and Sam Adams Light for Gates, and everyone seemed to be happier afterwards.

What next, who next, for beer summitry? Maybe Mikheil Saakashvili and Vladimir Putin could sort out that Russian-Georgian thing with a Baltika or a Kazbegi. Perhaps Hugo Chávez and Álvaro Uribe could fix up the Venezuela-Colombia relationship that's now on the rocks with the help of some chilled Cerveza Polar. There's no end to the good things that can come from having a cold one or two now and then.
