I love my apps!
I love my beer app (short for application). So do my kids.
It's fun, but not very useful.
I love my Jamie Oliver app. That is useful.
But an app that has changed my life is RadioBOX. I can now listen to BBC Radio 4 on my iPhone. I had been listening to Radio 4 on the internet, but found it a bit awkward to have to switch the computer on and then sit close to a screen just to listen to the radio. I like to listen to the radio while I'm getting on with other things.
I could listen to Radio 4 on the TV via satellite, but then the TV was on and that confused the kids.
"This is boring!"
"There's no picture!"
"We want CBeebies!"
Happened every time. It was quite annoying — I couldn't hear the radio.
Now I can stick my iPhone in the docking station and I'm happy! I can listen to the news as I make breakfast, and to the afternoon play as I do the ironing — that's if I feel like doing the ironing in the afternoon (or doing the ironing at all).
It's nice to know you can make the drudgery of housework more interesting if you want to.
Radio 4 just happens to be my favourite radio station — one that I really miss. But I could listen to any radio station from around the world — in any language. And so could you.
