All-new Basics exercises
I've often come across students who are frustrated with themselves because they think they aren't learning English fast enough.
They want to be able to express themselves just as well in English as in German. I explain to them that developing language skills is like building a wall: you need to start with solid foundations and keep on building, brick by brick. If you leave out bricks because you want to get on faster, it's not going to be a very sturdy wall.
This is the premise behind the new Basics exercises in the language section of Spotlight Online.
We've carefully selected a year's worth of "bricks" for you to build into a solid knowledge of English grammar.
Each Thursday, starting from today, I'll explain a fundamental part of English grammar and then provide six questions for you to practise. As you continue to build up your English skills, you'll be able to see what's gone before and what's coming next. The first topic is the construction of the present simple tense. Let's get going!
